OUR PURPOSE is to promote diverse voices and perspectives not only through the communities, local businesses and stories we cover, but also through the voices we are highlighting and seeking out. We do not oppose the businesses that have scaled beyond local ownership for they were once the unfathomable dreams of hard-working owners, entrepreneurs and their families. Rather, we seek to expand the opportunity for others to realize similar dreams.
OUR CONTENT represents a diversity of viewpoints, just as each community may possess a diversity of interests, so should our content. We embrace communities of all demographics and geographies, as well as the locally owned businesses and community members they represent.
OUR TONE is friendly, upbeat, encouraging, optimistic, open-minded, and professional. We are friends giving advice and in the know, but we’re not know-it-alls. Stories are written with appositive spin; we approach topics as fans, not critics.
Be honest and authentic, and let your personality come through in your writing. We welcome edgy topics, but please don’t resort to shock value. Your story should always provide a service to your reader. Be clever in your writing but not salacious or snarky. Use slang and abbreviations sparingly. Keep headlines and main images clean and safe for work.
All submissions must be original content that you own the rights to and that hasn't been previously published. Please fact check your story and provide sources for all your info. You may include original photography, but it isn't required. Images must be high-resolution and be at least 1456 pixels wide. Submission of a post does not guarantee it will be published on Nabrlee. Our team will reach out if we’d like to run your story!

We're flexible on word count, but between 800-1200 words is a good place to start.
We ask that members submit a full draft for our editors to review in the Submissions section on the dashboard.
Our editors are constantly reviewing submissions, so you should receive a notification within 30 days of completing a submission, of whether your story has been accepted or not.

Original photography isn't required, but if you’re submitting a story that could be enhanced with personal photos it has a greater chance of being published if you include them.
We ask that writers not to republish original content they write for Nabrlee anywhere once it has been published on Nabrlee. However, you are welcome to promote links to your contentonNabrlee.com on your social accounts and/or personal blog.
